BMW unveils a series of new models
BMW has unveiled a range of new models, including the new BMW 4 Series Coupe, convertible, new BMW M4 and BMW Z4 M40i manual.
New BMW 4 Series/Convertible
As a mid-term model, the BMW 4 Series coupe and convertible models have been adjusted in terms of design details and configuration.
The new car continued to have a very recognizable large-size double kidney air intake grille. Although this design was not acceptable to everyone when it was launched, over time, this design seemed to be gradually accepted by everyone. In some details, the new car was equipped with a new style of LED light group, which looked even more powerful.
The body basically continues the current model design, but the rims have been changed to a new style. The main change at the tail is the internal light group, which has excellent visual effect after lighting. The new car will be available in 2 solid colors and 8 metallic paints, and 2 new colors will be added.
The steering wheel and air conditioner of the new car have been upgraded accordingly, and the steering wheel of the M440i model also has a striking red centering mark. The family’s latest large-size one-piece floating surface screen and iDrive 8.5 human-machine interaction system are still equipped to improve convenience.
The new car will have two power options, 2.0T and 3.0T, respectively. Among them, the 2.0T engine has a maximum power of 258 horsepower and a maximum torque of 400 Nm; the 3.0T six-cylinder engine has a maximum power of 392 horsepower and a maximum torque of 539 Nm. The transmission is matched with an 8-speed Steptronic gearbox.
New M4
As a high-performance version of the 4 Series, the M4 is powered by a 3.0T inline-6 engine. The mid-range M4 has been slightly upgraded for appearance, interior and power, and is scheduled to start production in March 2025.
The new car also uses a new "7" shaped daytime running light, which is more fashionable. The front of the car continues to have a large-size double kidney air intake grille, but the air inlet on both sides of the grille has a new guide fin design, making it look a little more domineering.
The outline of the new car is not much different, but the silver rims are added. The rear of the car is also equipped with a new taillight and a laser light source. The exhaust part is still bilateral.
The new car has been replaced with a new steering wheel and a red correction mark has been added to further enhance the sporty atmosphere. The interior is otherwise consistent with the current model, continuing the design of the integrated floating curved screen and built-in BMW Operating System 8.5 car system.
As a performance monster, the new BMW M4 continues to be equipped with a 3.0T inline 6-cylinder engine, with a maximum power of 480 horsepower and a maximum torque of 550 Nm in the normal version; the Thunder version has a maximum power of 510 horsepower and a maximum torque of 650 Nm; the Thunder four-wheel drive version has increased its power by 20 horsepower compared to the current model to 530 horsepower, and the transmission provides a 6-speed manual and 8-speed automatic transmission.
BMW Z4 M40i manual transmission
The BMW Z4 M40i manual transmission will be available in the Handschalter option package, and only on the M40i model. It is expected to be launched globally in March 2024.
The new car comes with its own aura, and the double kidney intake grille is combined with the design of the convertible, making it look very visually impactful.
The front of the BMW Z4 is long, the rear is short and compact, and the driver’s position is almost in the back half of the car body, which not only looks good but also improves the handling. The design of the soft roof adds a bit of momentum. At the rear, there are slender and simple taillights, which add a bit of beauty to the vehicle.
The new car will be available in a variety of interior colors and materials. The BMW Z4 does not have the latest integrated screen of the replacement family, but uses a full LCD instrument panel + 10.25-inch central control screen.
The new car will be equipped with a 3.0T inline 6-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 382 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The top speed is limited to 249 km/h. In addition, the manual transmission is slightly slower in acceleration than the automatic transmission model. (Source: BMW Automotive)
